To create this Dark Mild we grabbed all of our favourite malts from the malt store to give it plenty of sweet and toasty raisin character and layered notes of delicate blackcurrant using British Bramling Cross Hops.

Can bought at the brewery. Aroma is chocolatey with a drop of sour cream. Opaque dark brown. Thick foamy light beige head. Initial sweet creamy chocolate malts, followed by light dark chocolate bitterness and tangy dark berries. Also burnt salty caramel comes into play. Light-medium bodied. A tad thin but creamy nonetheless.

Cask at the local pub. Darb brown pour, aroma of malt and nuts, same for taste which adds some roast aromas. Smoot and enjoyable.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 27th January 2022. Deep sepia with pale tan foam and a band of full lacing. Mildly roasty malt aroma. Plenty of nutty maltiness in-mouth, and a finish of toasted malts and touches of leafy hops. Smooth mouthfeel and a good body.

Pint on cask at the Nag's Head in Reading. Pours dark brown towards black with a creamy beige head. Roasted malts, little burnt note, smooth, creamy. Decent body for the style. An excellent pint!
