16oz can. Malty, smooth, super sessionable. Great balance, has a pinch more hop depth than is typical for the style, but still fully true to style. Well attenuated. Great stuff.

At Goldfinger Oktoberfest. I was told the recipe does change each year, depending on available hops, so this would count as a new batch, yes? Besides, look at it! Deep amber in a one-litre mug! Pillowy white head. Not much more than a standard lager nose, I'll admit. Taste is full of malts, a little bit of hop flower. Very hearty and filling. German hops are not overly peppery, may be some other European hops here, too.

2023 version. 5.9%. 6 month lagering. Simple, but sublime. Awesome, smooth malt tones. Very sessionable still, clean and lovely. Perfect bready malt tone. Delicate hop balance. Really good stuff.

Half litter dimpled mug at Goldfinger. Thick eggshell head that dwindles to legs on the side of the mug. Deep brown body looking more like a Newcastle than a festbier. Deep malty nose, some sweetness. Yummy rich Caramel malt taste. Seems pretty sweet, but mainly from malts more than sugar. There's only a slight edge of German-style hop to take the edge off. Oktoberfest Märzen is becoming one of my favorite style, and it's always great to get a fresh local version.
