Warming notes of Black Treacle and Cinder Toffee permeates the aroma of this rich, Brown Ale, pouring an exquisite deep Auburn shade (after it's namesake), though flashing Ruby in the light. Fully roasted malt flavour evokes traces of Cacao Nibs and Roasted Chestnuts alongside a smooth body which compliments the flavour profile perfectly.
Brewed with fresh hop Prima Donna, Fuggles, Magnum & Phoenix, hand picked & donated by Manchester Hop Project.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Pretty much a clear deep amber brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Light palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. The malts have a somewhat thin mouthfeel but provide decent earthy richness, touch of coffee. Mild if crisp ripe fruits on the back end. Crisp and semi dry finish. Pleasant and drinkable.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 10/12/24. Dark mahogany brown topped with a lasting beige cap formed of thinly knit bubbles. Nose is toffee, dried fruits, light roasted tones, nutty, cocoa sprinkle, candied nuts. Taste comprises chocolate biscuit, brown bread, dried fruit rinds, toasted brown sugars, nutty, light spice, dark malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with some dusty hop back notes. A top drawer example of the humble brown ale.

440ml can. Very dark brown, beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roast malts, caramel. Taste is very malty, roasty, chocolate, caramel/toffee, nutty, bitter finish. Medium bodied. Fantastic example of the style but again not the best for showing off fresh hops!

Dark brown with a solid tan head. Malty smell with toffee. Loads of sweet, roasted malts in the flsvour, with a distinct nuttiness, a bit of toffee again, a hint of cocoa. Decent body, nicely balanced. A lovely sessionable brown for the colder evenings.
