This year’s Festbier is brewed with Pilsner and Vienna malts, using a traditional single decoction mash to accentuate the smooth biscuity character and golden colour. Balanced by a classic German hop blend to give a crisp finish, this is a beer to celebrate good times with great friends. Prost!

Can at home from the Beer Shop in Hitchin. Good pour and very pale in the glass. It's got that richness you expect from a festbier with plenty of malt, but it's just lacking something for me. Ok, so I've been drinking a lot of these beers from Germany in the last few weeks and they have a clear edge. Don't get me wrong, this is a good beer, but as a homage to festbier.

440ml can. Almost clear golden, lightly hazed this year, white head. Aroma of pale malts, grains, doughy. Taste of pale malts, bready/doughy, light biscuit, caramel, mild citrusy/floral hops, light-moderate bitter finish. Great lager, better than last year's it seems.
