Keg at The Bear, Paddington, London. A dark brown coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Hoppy, malty, chocolate, pine aroma and taste. A really tasty, sweet brown pale ale.

440ml can. Pours a slightly unclear dark brown, beige head. Aroma of piney hops, chocolate, coffee. Taste has a hoppy start, piney, citrus peel, solid malt backbone of chocolate, coffee, caramel, coffee becoming the strongest flavour, bitter finish. Overall pretty well balanced.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Figs & Grain. Pours clear red-brown with a creamy, off-white head. Light sweet flavour with notes of well toasted pine, a little cocoa, coffee, earth, nips of orange peel. Light bodied with average carbonation. Balanced finish, more toasted malts, chocolatey notes, earthy hops, bitter pine. Solid.

Hazy brown-amber beer, thick off-white head. Aroma has a good mix of tropical bittersweet from the hops and a little pine. Flavour has a lovely balance of malt backed up by a big hoppy profile with bitterness, grass, bittersweet tropical fruit, a little citrus zest. Toasted malt lingers throughout, with some citrus zest and that pine-y quality. Good body, good balance, good beer.
