Uchu Brewing in Hokuto, Japan, are making some of the best hop-forward beers in the world. This hazy India Pale Ale was brewed with founder, Masahiro Kusunose, using Strata CGX, Strata, Idaho 7, Nelson and Citra with additions during whirlpool, hop dip and mid-fermentation. We’re getting grapefruit, pot, dried orange, pineapple and lemon drops. Enjoy!

Appearance is hazy yellowy orange, with a thick white head. Aroma is pineapple, citrus fruit, hop resin, mango, peach, stewed hops, grapefruit. Taste is grassy hops, pineapple, mango, tropical fruit, grapefruit, sweet orange, bit of citrus in the background. Nice and fruity.

Straight from can during a sunny hike, at De Ginkelse Heide. Color: Hazy golden, I presume. White head for sure. Aroma: Hoppy, sweetish tropical fruit (mango, overripe pineapple, sweetish orange, some grapefruit), some grass and dank. Taste: Smooth malty base, hoppy tropical fruit and some citrus fruit. Some grass and dank too. Over medium body, average carbonation. Over moderate to medium sweet, moderate to over moderate bitterness. Nice one.

Can from Middle Farm, Firle and shared in Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy, stone fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, dry, fresh, juicy tropical citrus, mango, grapefruit, dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Nice.

On tap at MBCC 2025 (Yellow session), pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma has gentle dank hops, stone fruit pith, and a little hopburn. Flavour has some dank hops, melony hops, and biscuity malt. Tangy, lightly dank finish. Good stuff.
