Introducing Soctopod - our imperial sour IPA was brewed in collaboration with our pals at Wander Beyond, and conditioned on literally tonnes of passion fruit and juicy Alphonso mango with a massive fruiting rate of over 570g/L.
Smooth lactose adds a sweet, creamy flavour while a generous double dry hop of Citra and Mosaic at 26g/L accentuates the fruity characteristics and tropical aromas.

Can. So it's 10% abv but only an IPA Sour? Hazy mango colour beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. A mild creamy malt vibe,.just enough to partially offset the tartness of the passion fruit. Ripe mango pulp underneath. Some tartness on the finish. This drinks like an imperial fruit beer to me. Nice, the passion fruit certainly gets the taste buds going.

Аромат сразу с небольшой цитрусовой кислинкой, много хмеля как будто пыльцы лапулиновой, так что цветы, мякоть цитрусовая спелая. Цвет чуть темнее обычного для ипы, пенка неплохая. Вкус по большей части цитрусовый, мякоть от грейпфрута и апельсина, но маракуйя тоже очень сильно ощущаеться из тропиков. Послевкусие вроде и имеет узнгаваемую кислинку для этого стиля но идет вместе с алкоголем, что не очень радует. В целом попытка есть вернуть былую славу в стиле, но скорее неудачно.

Keg at BrewDoge Paddington, 19/01/24. Hazed orange yellow with a white cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is mango flesh, pissy nip, guava, mandarin, mixed tropical fruits. Taste comprises ripe mango pulp, damp straw, herb, mandarin, hay bale, lychee, modest funk. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced acidic rip. Solid fun sour.

330ml can. Almost opaque orange, small white head. Aroma of mango and passionfruit, lemon, grapefruit. Taste of mango and passionfruit, sweet and sour, lemon, grapefruit, bit of a boozy finish. Full bodied. Actually a very nicely done sour IPA with a good amount of sourness. The lactose didn't turn it into a super sweet milkshake IPA.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - murky orange with a thin off-white head. Nose - tangy orange and pink grapefruit with some cherry or raspberry lurking. Taste - no fruit added, I'm told, but seems to be mango and passion fruit. I'm getting berry fruit, citrus fruit and yes, a good amount of sweet tropical too. Palate - medium bodied with a tart and funky edge to it. Overall -
