This beer is an English IPA where we want the taste to remind us of how an Anglish IPA ‘used to be’. The malt is chosen so that with the english yeast we get great malt depth and a complex mix of flavours. The hops are both traditional English and modern American so that the result is balanced bitterness with wonderful front aromas. This original version of this beer was 8.1% but we now call this Old School Export

(Draught at Ardbeg Embassy, Stockholm, 25 June 2019) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit and black-currant. Malty, slightly fruity taste with caramel, dried fruit, orange peel, black-currant and a balanced earthy bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and warming, leaning in the English strong ale direction. Nice one.

Draught @ MBWF 2018 [ Malmö- Öl & Whiskyfestival 2018 ], Malmömässan, Mässgatan 6, 215 32 Malmö, Sweden. [ As West Coast Beersmiths Old School ].Unclear medium orange amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, caramel, moderate hoppy, herbs, floral, light to moderate yeasty, light earthy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, caramelized malt, floral, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20180309] 6-3-7-3-12

Appearance: Hazy amber colour with an off-white head.
Aroma: Fruit, grapefruit, malt, caramel, hops.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy copper colour, coarse head. Fruity nose with notes of curacao and grapefruit peels. Sweet with medium-full body and clean mouthfeel. Sassafras, alcohol and caramel, notes of sugar and butter. Long bitter finish. Somewhat messy/harsh malt base.

Flarra krokius. Färgen påminner om en rejält rostad metallstång. Ja du som druckit ipor i många år kommer ihåg dessa ipor i klassisk ipa stil. Doftar? Maltigt , mjöligt med lite druvor och grönt äpple. I munnen rejält jäkla maltig i tung USA inlands stil. Inte många smaker förutom malt . Ok nu känns Lite blommor och där är en perfekt beska. Smör finns faktiskt också i smaken. Ok liite tvål också tyvär efter en stund. Den är så lååångt ifrån moderna New England Dipa man kan komma.
