Barrel-lagered Doppelbock
Kingdom of Tyrants was brewed using malt exclusively from Sugar Creek Malting. With a base of Munich, Vienna, and Pilsner malts, we also added a touch of crystal rye and a custom smoked malt incorporating cherry and ocean wood for a subtle smokey background. We then hopped this beer in the kettle using only Tettnang, and fermented it cold with one of our favorite lager yeast strains. Previously held Midnight Still to lager cold for 5 weeks.

On tap at Holy Mountain, pours a hazy bright amber red with a small beige head. Aroma has a wonderful caramely bready malt character upfront, with oak, and dried out brown sugar. Flavour is rich and malty despite not being very sweet, revealing notes of dry toffee, bready malt, red fruits, and a touch of oak. Sturdy and complex. Really great.
