It’s a rendition of an age old monastery beer, but done the 8 Wired way. Brewed and dry hopped with NZ grown Styrian Golding Hops, fermented with a Belgian yeast and refermented with Brettanomyces. 8 Wired’s homage to Orval - try them both side by side!

Bottle at the Kentish Belle, Bexleyheath. Amber pour with a white head. Apricot, brie and pithy orange aroma. Flavours of apricot jam, kiwi fruit, lemon peel. Very nice balance of sweet and sour. Very good.

Bottle from Brewklopedia, Leicester. Very dark gold, almost onion-skin, and almost clear with a foamy off-white head. Fruited caramel on the nose with rosewater and a little bit of guava. There's some funk but it's very gentle. Sweet taste with some pomelo and some yeasty funk. More pithy bitter/sourness in the finish. A really interesting beer that improves the more I drink it.

On tap at Brother’s Beer. Aroma is all Belgian ale. Dried fruit, cherries, yeast. Taste is good, with dried cherries and raisins. Really pleasant, if not spectacular.
