Poured from the tap. Reddish brown with minimal off white head. Red wine and lightly sour raspberries. Great blend.

There is a lot going on in this aroma - hay funk, lambic cherries, musty Belgian barns, good on Central City for bringing a proper old world messiness to lower mainland beers. Great dark brown and ruby red body, minimal head but that is likely by design in this bar. Flavour is gooey lambic sourness with huge citrus cherries. A bit of wood and malt and a puckering finish but in a good way. Another great new world wild ale from Surrey of all places. (You know what they say - better safe than Surrey, right?)

Draft - Raspberry and soured dark malts. Clearish copper with a decent white head. Raspberry, cherry and some light balsamic notes. Very fruit forward, but still nice.

On tap. Pours a dark red/brown with little head. Aromas of oak, vinegar, and mashed red berries. Flavors of dark raspberry jam, green oak, and light funky vinegar. A really nice deep dark raspberry - still very fruity.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a hazy dark red / burgundy with a small beige head. Aroma is very complex, with lots of oak and red wine barrels upfront, followed by more subdued tart raspberry notes. Flavour has a lot going on, with tons of woody oak and dry red wine barrels dominating, accentuated gently by lightly tart raspberries. Booze is hidden, imparting a slightly warming feeling to the finish. Nicely crafted and wonderfully barrel aged. Excellent.

@ Rogue Waterfront. Reddish-brown. Thin head. Woody, a bit balsamic, with lots of sweet raspberry. Earthy, woody, tart, vinous and the raspberry is balanced. A bit flat, which also makes it a touch slick, but it is a good brew, with a vinegary depth and s

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark brown color. Fruity aroma, vinous, tannic, with wood, acidic. Good body strength; the fruity character here is very strong, the raspberries are evident, the vinous character follows, mild acetic presence, smooth mouthfeel, more wood, oak and tannins in the final.
Powerful and harmonious. Excellent.
