The Sour Kriek II is a Belgian style Sour Red Ale infused with cherries and has been aging for two years in Cabernet Sauvignon oak barrels and French oak foeders. Brewed in the traditional Belgian fashion, Sour Kriek II is big- bodied and has a balance of earthy, oak tones and cherry notes that give a lightly sweet, sour cherry experience.

Dark mahogany pour, with a large quickly dissipating beige head. Aroma is big on sour cherries with alot of woody oak. Earthy, and sour, with big lactic notes. Loads of dark fruit, hint of cocoa, and slight vanilla. Low carb, almost flat, good mouth feel. Low bitterness, solid strong sour, funky finish. Great stuff, well done.

Bottle thanks to Tony. Pours a cloudy copper with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is oak, leather, fig, cherry skin. Slick body, similar flavors to nose, strong oak tannins, dry finish, good.

Bottle: Poured a deep reddish color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of oak and cherry tart notes with some light acidic notes is pleasant. Taste is a mix of cherry and oak flavours with some tart notes with some acidic notes also perceptible and some vinous notes in the aftertaste. Body is full for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable but lacking a little bit of balance with too much tartness.
