A very drinkable ESB, light bitterness, smooth and malty, quite sweet and nutty. Quite a classic esb, very nice to just keep drinking this one.

On tap at The Lord Raglan. Pours a clear amber gold with a near white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces slightly. Aroma has earthy grains and bread with a slight nuttiness underlying. Flavor has slightly sweet grains and bread with a bit of nuttiness coming through.

Can from Garsons Farm Shop, West End. Aroma has roasty cacao over dark berries. Clear-opaque. Thin frothy foamy white head. Big and roasty chocolate maltiness. Sweet berries. Some tartness on the periphery. Some hop action into the finish. As I drink more a caramel undertow appears. Light-medium bodied. Slick verging on oily. Fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. An entertaining if not overly trad ESB.

Cask@Railway, Streatham, London (31/03/2023) - Toasted sweet malty and bitter hoppy, twiggy hops, cereal, toasted sweet malty, caramel, biscuit sweet malts, soft cask mouthfeel, bitter hoppy finish. Decent.
