On tap. Pours a deep copper color with light head. Aromas of fruity toffee, a little pine and bready malts. Almost perfumeyโฆ Flavors of toffee, resin, bread crust, raisins and toasted malts. Like a triple IPA mixed with an American barley wine.

Keg at BD Waterloo. Aroma has burnt caramel and dark fruit with a boozy edge. Clear dark brown. Creamy white head retreats to the rim. Boozy and dark fairy with spice and malts. Medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long finish. Christmas beer.

On tap at Brewdog - Merchant City (Glasgow), pours a clear copper / mahogany with a small off-white head. Aroma is boozy, with resinous hops, bready malt, and some toasted caramel. Flavour is both malty and hoppy, with lots of resinous hops, caramel malt, and dried dark fruits. Excellent balance โ both robust in the hops and malt departments. Really good.

Keg at BD AGM. It pours deep red - brown with a medium yellow - white head. The aroma is vanilla, bourbon, sappy, oily, booze soaked oak, dried fruits, intoxicating, fruit cake, glace cherry, brown bread, leather, toffee, caramel, bourbon biscuits and nuttiness. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, piney, resinous, sappy, spruce, brown bread, spicy, dried fruits, candied citrus, fruit cake, varnished wood, boozey warmth, candied orange, marmalade, toothy, chewy and a touch of tannin with a drying, toothy finish. Fulsome body, moderate carbonation and chewy mouth feel. Nice depth. A turbo BA squid assassin essentially.
