Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of butter as well as lighter notes of vinegar and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet and sour with notes of over ripe fruits as well as lighter notes of wood, leading to a tart finish. Thanks KimJohansen for sharing.

Clear mahogany with a medium beige head. Sour aroma with lacto, roasted malt, sour berries and wood. Flavour had lacto, sour berries, roasted malt, caramel and woody hints. Finished sour. Not bad.

25 cL bottle, courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours cloudy dark brown with a small off-white tan head. Slight brett infection and citric aroma. Sweet malty, citric and brett and slight sugarish. Smooth mix of brett, citric notes and sweet caramelish malt.

Dark chestnut. Murky. Thin head. Slightly chocolaty, raisiny nose. Very sweet, with molasses and soft toffee. I like it.

(Bottle 25 cl) Years ago I had a "Snoek" in the version by "De Dolle Brouwers", but now Strubbe has taken over producing both a "Blond" and a "Bruin" to the small, cosy brewery-museum (AND bar, not to forget!) in Alveringem, West-Flanders. "The Museum of Thirst...!" And surprisingly the "Bruin" is a sour ale, definately not the hippest type these years. Almost mahogany in colour, filtered with a small off-white head. Acidic on the nose and this classical metallic sweet and sour aroma that quenches your thirst perfectly. Almost no bitterness. http://www.desnoek.be/pagina5_DE_SNOEK.htm 220405
