Can. A- Dark chocolate, whisky, deep. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Dark chocolate fudge, bourbon, mild wood. P- Full body, slightly thick texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Really well balanced. A fair bit of barrel influence but not other worldly complex. Pretty straightforward.

473mL can. Pours jet black with a fast-fading tan head. Aroma has lots of whiskey barrels, burnt brown sugar, dark chocolate, and roasty malts. Flavour has burnt caramel, charred wood, whiskey, dark chocolate, some roast. Good amount of booze and the underlying stout is very rich; excellent.

Pint can pours with a deep dark colored body that supports a firm tan head of foam. The aroma offers up chocolate, fudge and molasses as well as smooth hits of boozy spirit barrel flowing into a sense of coconut. The taste delivers smooth bold notes of chocolate malts, dark roasted malts and growing sweet boozy bourbon. Another sip reveals a layer of molasses drizzled fudge and boozy chocolate cake. Nice. It ends with a firm warming unmistakable bourbon booziness that helps balance out the sweeter desert notes going on here. Solid sipper.

Can from John's. Pours a pitch black hue with a small beige head. A big sweet nose, roast, whiskey and char. Rich, I guess this is defined as having no adjuncts, rich heavy roast, anise, huge boozy bourbon. The barrel is dominant and super smooth. Damn this is great.

16 oz. can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma has a nice whiskey barrel character, light molasses, and some roast. Flavour has some complex whiskey barrel character upfront, with subdued roast, dry sugars, booze, and more whiskey character. Finishes fairly hot but with a great whiskey character. Very nice.
