Medium amber. Slight haze. Not much head. On the nose, it's got a fair bit of barrel, mostly stone fruit, maybe red currants. Tart, with decent barrel character, with a subtle herbaceous notes. This is well-balanced. A touch acetic, but not overly so. Dry, woody, finish, touch of tannins. This is working. Good example of a rare, and seemingly quite difficult to make style.

500mL bottle. Pours murky amber with small white head. Aroma has dried fruit, wood, a touch of balsamic. Flavour has some funky yeast, oak, sour dark plums and dried berries. Very solid, great woody character.

16 oz. bottle, pours a mostly clear dark amber burgundy with a small off-white head. Aroma has some balsamic notes, tart red fruits, and a touch of wood. Flavour is very woody, with some dark dried fruits, gentle balsamic, light Worcestershire sauce, and tons of oak on the finish. Fairly dry, with just enough balsamic -- not much acetic character -- and wonderfully oaky. Damn, this is nice.
