Bottle from Sutton Bridge Co-op. Pale yellow, flat. Sharp apple smell with touches of vinegar, turpentine and brandy. Taste is incredibly sour, intense throat-burning vinegary finish. There’s dry and then there’s dry and then there’s this. I think it’s a mess. Not keen.

500ml bottle from GBFF 2014 at Harewood House, Yorkshire. Hazy pale yellow colour, no head and aroma of sharp apple, boozy, barnyard. Taste is musty apple, with some tannin, solvent, straw, vanilla and farmyard notes. Medium bodied, low soft carbonation, warming sourish dry tannic finish. Mellow and very drinkable.
