Festive Star. For our celebration of the Christmas holiday spirit, we took our smooth drinking and robustly flavoured Northern Star mocha porter and jazzed it up with classic warm winter spices, namely cinnamon and nutmeg. Festive Star is basically the equivalent of mulled wine in beer form, only brewed with roasted barley and coffee beans. So sit back, cosy up with your loved ones and crack a few open to make your merriest memories of the year.

At oxy184. Opaque black with a lovely fawn head. The nose is predominantly dark chocolate. The taste definitely has spice and dried fruit to add to the chocolate. It’s rich but very balanced.

Pitch black, tall macropore creamy tan head, receding slowly, average lacing. Spicy nose, aroma roasted malts, cinnamon, nutmeg, mocha, coffee, laurel. Taste heavy sweet and slightly bitter, roasted malts, brown sugar, coffee, mocha, retronasal nutmeg. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste, spicy touch till the end, coffee and liquorice notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; special brew, heavy on spices, not an easy beer but very good.
