ABV: 5.0%. Clear dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, wood, light to moderate chocolate, light burnt. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, wood, roasted, dark malt, light to moderate chocolate, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. 18/10/2018. Cask at the Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival 2018, Nottingham. Pours black with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, light coffee and lactose. Medium plus sweetness and light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Nice beer.

Cask @ Nottingham Beer Festival. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, caramel, fruits and hops. Sweet finish.

Cask @ Nottingham Beer and Cider Festival. Black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet and roasted light bitter finish. 181018

Cask at the brewery, Lye. Pours jet black with a small head. Aroma is liquorice and milk chocolate. Tatse has milk chocolate throughout with a slightly tart finish.

Cask @ Bar Fringe, Manchester. Black with a creamy off-white head. It's extremely milky and very smooth.

Handpull cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark brown, opaque with a few bubbles of tan head. Ovaltine and slight hazelnut aroma. Sweet taste with a suggestion of fruity hop later on, however it stays predominantly sweet to the finish. Oily body. Pretty good!
