Dark clear brown-ruby color, steady small beige head. Nutty caramelly aroma. Medium-bodied. Caramelly, nutty flavor. Light minty hoppyness in the aftertaste, sweetish. Quite close to English ESBs.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours brown. Pretty standard but well done nut brown. Nuts and roasted malt on the nose and palate. Very nice.

Dull brown colour; very toasty aroma with some charred notes. Toasty malt palate, with light notes of cheap coffee. A little bit of woody bitterness in the finish. Middle of the road example...but well-made. Vern is becoming my favourite local brewer.
