I had a really pleasant experience with this beer, spicy but it is well balanced, roasted malt, giving an interesting union with the chili, 17.02
2018, drinking it at Prélaz, Lausanne.

Draft. A dark brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, chili, caramel, malt, and bread, leading to a burning chili finish. Too much chili for me.

Cask. Rich ruby-garnet. Aroma: caramel, light pepper, a little burnt, yeast, more bread. Taste: caramel and roasted malt, yeast, dried fruit, a lot of chili pepper, a little fruit vinegar, spicy, warming, good with ribs /perhaps Extra Hot Edition?/

330ml bottle. Dark brown with a foamy tan head. Bitter chocolate malt aroma, flavour is chocolate and malt before the chilli kicks in. And the chilli is plentiful. And awesome.

Handpull cask at the Black Horse, Aylestone. Dark brown, a little bit of light getting through. Creamy khaki head on top. A bit of chocolate malts and a vegetal trace in the aroma. Tastes sweet, almost sickly, but it's buoyed up by the heat of the chili. The heat isn't all-encompassing but it does burn a bit throughout the sip. Caramel notes in the aftertaste pop out on the edges of the chili on the way down. This probably wouldn't be very good with the chili, and to be honest it feels a bit gimmicky. I'm glad I tried it, but it's just okay.

Cask at the St. Ives 'Booze on the Ouse' beer festival, 2017. Pours mahogany brown with a small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, light spice and dark fruit. Taste is intense chilli. Medium body, soft carbonation. Level of heat is not required!

Cask @ St Ives Booze on the Ouse festival. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, caramel, lots of chilli in the finish, fruits and hops. Long chilli finish. A little too hot to be good balanced, but still good.
