Cask half pint at The Justice Mill (JDW), Aberdeen. 6.0% ABV. Dark brown colour, beige head. Moderate but nice aroma, hints of chocolate and chili. LOADS of chili in the flavour, nearly too much, burning mouthfeel, on a background of smooth and fairly sweet malts with some chocolate and caramel.

Cask at Bow Bar. It pours darkest brown with a thick light tan head. The nose is rich roast, coffee grounds, earth, charred wood, chilli spice and a touch of green vegetables. The taste is quite sweet initially, sticky, treacle, chocolate, then the chilli spice kicks in, rich roast, coffee grounds, some alcohol heat and charred earth. Chilli spice lingers through the finish. Medium body and foamy carbonation. Weirdly enough I find this a bit sweet and sticky after a while. Saying that it’s pretty good for a chilli beer and the heat is well judged. Decent.
