Cask at the Southampton Arms, London 7th November 2023. Slightly hazy amber with shallow off-white ring-and-film affording almost no foam or lace. Mildly pungent aroma. Slightly burnt maltiness in-mouth with peel, spices and just the suggestion of smoke. A finish of overripe yet somewhat sour fruits, Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Gravity cask at the Ale Stone, Aylestone. Dark copper/gold and mostly clear with a few bubbles of loose off-white head. Pomelo and overripe tangerine in the aroma. Big, sweet taste with lots of chewy malt character to the fore. There's the stone fruit and citrus hop notes as well, but it's still very malt-led. There's a light bitterness to the long finish with more pomelo and notes of red cherry. Oily hody with virtually no carbonation. An impressive very English IPA.
