Clear amber colour with a thin white head. Hoppy aroma with hints of berries. Medium to Light-bodied; Strong hop flavour fades to a bit of malt. Aftertaste has a very subtle hoppiness and some strong tea flavours. Decent bitter, but there are much better. I had this on draught at the Old Toad in Rochester, New York on 22-September-2003.

Cask. Warm, brownish orange color with some red hues. Nutty malt aroma. I enjoy the hops/malt balance with the even bitter finish. Has a dry nutty feel with a smooth velvety texture. Tastes like toffee and graham crackers. Served at the proper temperature and absolutely flat. A great beer. Could use some more body and a bit more complexity.

Nicely smooth - and very bitter...too bitter. Not much body or malt presence. Doesn't seem to fit the Best Bitter category.
