4oz pour at Churchkey pours an opaque black with some cloudy, beige head. Nose is nice, nutty, bread crust, toast, rootbeer, caramel. Flavor is the same, standard but sweet, malty, nutty, bread, some cola. Clean finish.

Very good for style. Dry bitter finish with roast oats. Some coffee. Pours thick black with good head and lacing. Tap takeover at Churchkey.

On draft (nitrogen) at brewery. Poured black with creamy tan head. Adequate Oatmeal Stout type aroma with dry almost chalky tart oatmeal. Almost no sweetness in the aroma. Nice light bodied mouth feel with burnt-roasted malts, hints of oatmeal, some tartness and coffee.

2004 draught @ the brewery. Pours a dark brownish-black body, with a nearly opaque look to it. Thick and creamy off-white head. Aroma of licorice, chocolate, brown sugar, cocoa and some lightly sour roast notes. Flavor starts out with a milk chocolate sweetness followed by light roast and a good chewy oat consistency. Very sweet up front with vanilla, heavy cream and little hops or roast, but thins out somewhat, with a watery, light barley malt flavor as it finishes. Good flavor to start, easygoing and drinkable. Maybe a bit too one-sidedly sweet, somewhat of a chocolate syrup flavor. Could use a bit more roast (even for a sweet stout) and some more yeast.
