Ruby in color with no real head, but some decent lace - caramel and brown sugar nose - a bit thin bodied for the style, with a bit of hops clashing with the high level of sweetness - there is a metalllic taste to this that makes it kind of taste like bubble gum wrapped around a wet penny - not the greatest drinking experience.

An amber beer with a small disappearing orange head. The aroma is of sulphur, fruit, and malt. The flavor is malty with notes of caramel and hints of alcohol. The sulphur reminds me of an Eastern European Beer.

2004 draught. Kinda cool trying one of these single batches on draught (at least I thought it was) as I have like the last few that I have tried. Anyways it pours a good enough dark caramel brown with a creamy yellow tinged white head. Aroma has a surprising amount of yeast, lightly sour with some deep roasted malt appeal and even some alcohol. Some very sweet nutty notes as well. Flavor begins with a big dose of bittersweet malt, slightly oily/syrupy, somewhat fluffy/carbonated mouthfeel though (which seems like a contradiction). Hmm, not terribly complex, it’s got some toffee/molasses in there, wouldnt mind some smoke malts, of which I tasted none. Sweet/sour chocolate and yeast on the finish. Definite bitter hops apparency throughout which really detracts from the style.
