Clear slightly fizzy pale yellow body with a small creamy off-white head. Light honey aroma. Dry honey flavor with some light grassy hops in the background, somewhat watery.

Bottle. I think to myself, how bad can it be? Then I open it. Whoa doggies, for something that claims to be low-carb, it sure smells of sugar. Pours a very pale brown, like a whiskey and water with lots of melted ice. No head. Tastes like a non-alcohol beer; that sugary smell I mentioned is nowhere in the mouth. Might compare to a Malto Goya except for a harsh tinny taste. Some undiscernable bitterness is present somewhere. Yet I think this is exactly what the manufacturers… I mean brewers… intended. I think I’ll save the bottle for homebrew contest entries, so that at least it will have held beer at some point in its tragic life. Belch-h-h-h-hy, too.

Bottle. "Low Carb" = low taste. DAB original isn’t that great, but this one makes it a lot better.

2004 bottle. Well if you want to rate this relative to the other low carb beers on the market, this one would be in the high 4’s. However, on the whole scale of pale lagers, it’s not nearly that special. Still, the flavor is not offensive, just pretty neutral, watery and weak. There was some attempt at hops flavoring, dry and minimal with a seltzer-like body. No sweetness whatsoever, very peppery carbonation, with almost no aroma. Clear, straw color, white head. Very similar to sparkling mineral water (San Pelegrino anyone?). Whatever, it’s better than bud light.
