Bottle split at L6 Tasting, thanks to Tipple, 27/06/19. Mahogany brown with a decent off beige covering. Nose is roast malts, chocolate, charr, toffee, dusty hop kernels. Taste comprises toffee, cocoa powder, brown bread, light pine needle, dried fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with earthy hop bitterness. Passable CDA.

Bottle from Total Wine in San Jose (Stevens Creek). Pours dark brown with a huge creamy light tan head. Aroma of pine and dark malt. Med body or so. Flavor is pine, rye spice and dark malt. A bit of chocolate in the malt. Not wholly dry. Bitter. Nice zing from the rye.

Rocky beige head left a frothy collar on a dark mahogany coloured body. Bitter citrus, pith, berry & pine aroma. Medium bodied sharp & sharp on the palate with a clean back. Malt, liquorice to the fore with a bitter tangy finish of citrus, pine, pith & grapefruit.

Bottle shared at the Columbus Tasting 27/06/2019. Many thanks to Tipple! A clear nut brown coloured pour with a loose beige head. Aroma is semi sweet, nutty malts, toast, earthy hop, little apple. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, toasted, dirty pine, toast, . Palate is semi sweet, some pine resin, moderate carboantion. . Assertive hop piney bitterness.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Sr. Tippelero. Pours clear brown with a bubbly tan head. Tasty, with notes of burnt toast, earth, ash, background cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly bitter finish, more ash and scorched earth. Nice one.

Level 6 bottleshare. Thanks to Tips. Semi opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Sweetish malts, trace of coffee, a tad more malt cream. Mild tangy fruits. Little spicy hop. Smooth and slightly soft finish. Tidy but not outstanding.

[2/17/15] Draught at BarrelHouse Brewing in Paso Robles. Dark brown to black with a beige head. Aroma of piney hops, a bit of roast and spicy rye. Flavor with roast, chocolate, piney hops, a spicy rye note and a bitter finish. Medium-bodied.
