Deep copper coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall off-white and tan head that fades fairly slowly, but leaves a nice thin layer on the sides. Aroma of bright grassy and very citrusey notes in the nose with some grapefruit peel, a dash of oranges and some soft hay here, with a light layer of malts noticeable, and nothing pungent or funky. Medium-bodied; Noticeable bitter flavours from grain and perfume here up front with a light kick of citrus fruits and some bitterness from the hops finally gets through towards the end, with a good malt balance throughout and some smoother fruity notes at the tail end. Aftertaste shows some dry and grassy flavours up front with a big perfumey characteristic and a herbal note from the hops, but all are smoothed out by the moderate caster sugar and even honey flavour at the very end. Overall, a pretty nice, relatively easy-drinking, but flavourful beer with a lot of hop characteristics and some sweetness towards the end, but balanced nicely and well worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in San Francisco (North Beach), California on 29-August-2022 a few hours ago for US$3,50 sampled on the streets of San Francisco, California on 29-August-2022 the following day.

Can. Pours clear butterscotch, large creamy white head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is dank, grassy, pine, bathroom. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, watery. Light plus body.

Tap at Harry's Hofbrau in Redwood City. Citrus and a bit of pine. Slight sweetness. Clear golden-orange with white head that fades to a collar. Slight patterns. Taste follows aroma with a bit of leaning into the sweetness from the crystal. More like a pale ale to me...but a tasty one.

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours amber/brassy gold with a white head. Aroma is detectable caramel with what might be tropical fruits. Medium body at least. Flavor is piney in a funny way with something tropical. It’s good, just confusing me a bit. A touch malty, yet decently towards dry. Hoppy for sure. Very pleasingly bitter. West Coast level. Tasty.

On tap at the brewery. Mostly clear golden / light orange coloured pour with a small off white. Aroma is nice resinous pine, citrus hop, some sweet malts. Flavour is composed of bready malts, hint of caramel, piney hop with some background tropical. Palate is medium light in body, some sticky hop resin, moderate carbonation. Assertive clean hop bitterness. Good ipa.
