With the color of a pilsner and the character of an ale, our blonde is a welcome and refreshing respite. Brewed with an authentic kolsch yeast strain, a peck of fruitiness compliments the blend of noble hops. Lager-like with its delicate dryness, it really is reminiscent of ales from Köln, Germany.

bottle - Pours a hazy straw color and has a grainy malt aroma. It tastes of sweet, bready malt with a bit of hops. It’s light bodied and drinkable but bland to me. It’s not really my thing.

Draft at the brewery - San Diego. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. Sugary white bread in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with doughy malts, white bread, light hay and floral hops. Light bodied with average carbonation. Balanced finish, some sweet cereal, dry dough, crusoy white bread, straw. Simple but very drinkable.

12oz bottle pours with a clear gold body that supports a thin bright white head. The aroma offers up sweet malts, grainy malts, sweet lime candy and then a bit of floral hops. The taste is similar with a mix of sweet sugary malts, floral hops and sweet lime hard candy with some grainy malts coming to the surface a moment later. The hops do get more bitter to midway but not enough to overcome the sweetness. Not that great, this is just too sweet and it lacks the crispness and lightness of a good example of the style. I’ll need to re-do this one fresh on tap when I get a chance.
