Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass at the brewpub.
The appearance was a fairly decent looking black to brown color with a bar pour’s kind of head.
The smell was weird, the roasty notes tried to show some beef but had a slight sour note to it.
The taste copied the smell.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium with a weird sessionability about it. I think I could do this. The carbonation 6was slightly smooth. There’s a light palatable roasty to sour aftertaste.
Overall, this one was o.k. I’m not sure if the \"sour\" was intentional or not.

Draught pint at the brewpub on 12/28/05. Unfiltered baker’s chocolate brown colored body with a small tan head that fairly rapidly recedes to cover/ring but does lace pretty readily. Aroma of light roasted malts, touches of chocolate and vanilla and a fresh, but rather unremarkable yeastiness. Touches of cascade-like hops are faintly perceptible, while there is a touch of creamy coffee in the background. Flavor is very subdued on the chocolate, being dark and only emergent on the end as it warms fully. Through the main part of the body, it is lightly roasted, with hints of mocha and light vanilla. Touches of hop bitterness, very little flavor and then just light pale malt sugars. Lightly watery, moderately carbonated and slippery of texture with no alcohol apparency.
