Cloudy yellow with a tall head. Yeasty, tangy citrus aroma. In the flavor the tangy comes out as a sourness that is a bit much more than it should be. Some underlying sweetness there, but this is not put together the way it should be.

2005 bottle sampled 8/24/2005. Bright mumosa-orange-yellow color. Hazy to begin with, but the yeast settles down and drops to the bottom quickly. White head is big, but diminishes to a film. Light clove, touch of bubblegum and nice malted wheatiness. Not a terribly powerful aroma and quite restrained and even, but good. Flavor is lemon, dry buckwheat pancakes. Bit of sourish yeast and light sugar on the finish. Enjoyable mouthfeel with smooth, low carbonation. Not watery, but a very light body. Very restrained flavor, very dulled by the large amount of wheat. I prefer a lot less wheat to non-wheat malt ratio. But assuming this is what they aimed for, it’s well done. Lightly chewy on the end. Sharp, lightly bitter hops right up front, but they are mostly flavorless. Some hops flavor on the end though, after it has thoroughly warmed.

Crystal golden in colour with tons of small bubbles-no head at all. Aroma of wheat and a bit of spices. Medium-bodied; Harsh astringent taste-not very pleasant. Aftertaste bittered from the medicinal taste. Overall, a very rare beer to try-but the bad results were expected as they haven't made this bottle in a long time! I found this twelve ounce bottle at R.F.D. in Washington and it is probably one of the last places to find this one. I sampled this beer on 28-November-2003.

A good American wheat. Slightly spicy, with some lemon/clove hints in the aroma and flavor - but by far the strongest flavor component is bananas. This is the most bananaish wheat I've ever had. Very interesting and good. Its just a wee bit too sweet though, making it less refreshing and less drinkable than some of the classic hefeweizens. Color- dark gold, a little too dark. As it finishes, an unfortunate aftertaste develops - perhaps because it paired quite poorly with my steak.
