At a tasting, thanks, small bubbly head, almost completely clear deep slightly rusty orange color, candy bready aroma, bready malty flavor with metallic notes, light bitterness with real hoppiness detectable. Not good.

Can sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks troubles. Hazy golden. Aroma of malt, cardboard, stale hops. Sweet flavor with malt, cardboard, marmalade, bitter stale hops. Medium-bodied. Old.

2015 can, drunk 10/5/15.
Clear light amber liquid has light to moderate carbonation creating a medium-sized off-white head that fades slowly to cover.
Ugh, the old "Traditional style...BUT WITH A TWIST!". Please for the love of god, let’s give it a break with the oh so original twist being a lot of American hops that in turn blot out the nuances of the traditional style. I guess with a strong heller bock, it’s not SUCH a problem, but regardless, the nose is mostly fruity hops with some bread dough, honey and plentiful citrus. Don’t get too much pine in the nose thankfully, nor is it alcoholic or flawed.
Flavor brings forth a dry pine and grapefruit character, that yields a bit of room to the sweet caramel and sourdough-like maltiness. Dry biscuits, heavy citrus, some lighter floral notes and a rather peppery carbonation and hard texture. Really uninteresting to me, as the hops destroy any chance of finding any fun yeast/water character. The texture seems rather filtered and the carbonation too prickly. Monotonous caramel/dough and citrus/piney hops, yum!

Refrigerated 16 oz. aluminum can from AirForceHops poured into a glass. Deep golden with medium white head. Aroma is fruity, medical body, medium carbonation, and some lacing. Taste is fruity, piney hops, with dry finish. Good maibock.

Can from Bert’s Deep golden color with a decent white head. Huge resinous pine on the nose with crackery bready malt underneath. Huge hop flavor and moderate bitterness. Helles bock this is not, if I were judging to style I would slam this beer. It is damn tasty though, call it an IPL instead.

16 oz’er purchased at 7-11 Kittery, ME. Mostly clear Amber color with some lasting head. Aroma is earthy pine and tones of floral hop character. Yep, caramel here to. Caramel and grain base with a lively carbonation level. The hop profile is large enough to help make a normally ordinary style a bit more interesting. Lengthy earthy pine bitterness well after the sip. Pretty easy drink with just the right hop kick.

Pours deep dark gold into a shaker. Soapy head with medium retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Cracked biscuit and sweet caramel aromas. Thick with caramel and toffee upfront turning to resin in the dry, medium length finish.
