Can pour from trade with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! It's a mostly clear honey amber with light sparkle, finger-width off-white foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma is moderately strong pine and caramel malt (almost like a light Black IPA). Taste resembles aroma but is a bit stronger. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation, no sign of alcohol and finish as taste. Overall, drinks lighter that one would expect for the style and the Black IPA quality is odd--wish they had just doubled down and gone for it--but I think this is what they were going for (or this is just old and the hops deteriorated). A sucker for the style.

16 oz. can. No date code. Burnt orange in color. Aroma is soft grapefruit and orange marmalade. Flavor is somewhat balanced with grapefruit, herb, pine hops and sweet malt that gives that marmalade character. Extremely old school double IPA. Good.

LSAT Freedom Trip #91. Keg at the brewpub. Clear copper, large foamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of tropical, earthy hops, pale malt. The taste is tropical, piney, bright orange, pale malt. Medium bodied, low carbonation, lingering bitterness.

Copper orange colored liquid is topped by a moderate amount of white head showing fair retention. Medium-high to high clarity.
Not too shabby aroma! Fairly straightforward ruby red grapefruit and some meyer lemon notes show a good amount of juiciness and while there’s a bit of excess acidity, you can tell care was taken to really get some good late-hopping in here. As well, aside from some toasty/sourdough-like malt character, its pretty well given over to the hops yet balanced enough by background base malts. Alcohol nicely reserved.
Juicy fruits balance pale malts in the flavor and you get a good dose of citrus ending in light melon and a bit of pine. Well-malted yet pretty well attenuated, with a supple, somewhat thick at times, texture. Alcohol pretty well concealed, bit of excess resin/grapefruit rind on end, but the juicy-sweet hoppiness is compelling. Very nice.
