Bomber from La Riviera. Pours brilliant dark copper with a beige head. Aroma of whiskey that seems bourbon; hints of light treacle. Med + body. Flavor is light treacle, medium dark fruits, whiskey that seems bourbon, and a little tasty heat. Not very dry; whiskey stands in for bitter. Very tasty indeed.

A: 24k gold colour, 2 fingers of foam with a vigorous pour. Decent lacing.
S: Whiskey nose with some wheat and roasted notes. Caramel malt sweetness grows the more I take whiffs.
T: Whiskey is strong, caramel malt is strong, the wheat is there as is a peculiar sharpness that’s hard to describe. Just saying that it throws off the direction that the beer was going in in a decidedly negative way.
M: A bit thin bodied for a brew as abv strong as it is. Good carbonation.
O: I am typically disappointed with the majority of Boulder beers. This is no exception.
