GBBF Day 1. Cask. Clear deep red amber beer, good tan head. Smooth palate, soft, not much carbonation at all. Slighty earthy and sweestish cocoa malts. Touch of thin dry cream. Light finish. Okay.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Gloucester Beer Festival 27 April 2018. Medium brown in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Bready malts, some dark berries, a suggestion of toasty malts and gentle finish. Fine.

Cask at the Star Inn Crowlas. It pours deep brown with a small white head. The nose is toasted brown bread, cereal, earthy roast, tobacco, meatiness and dull smoke. The taste is earthy, brown bread, fruit cake, malt loaf, light smoke and caramel with a short, dryish finish. Light body and soft carbonation. A fairly standard mild. Drinkable enough.
