This Kolsch-style Lagerbier uses a simplified malt bill with plenty of flaked barley for beautiful lacing and a big foamy aromatic head. Driven by an assertive bitterness and hopped with Vic Secret, BRU-1 and Simcoe pairing perfectly with our traditional Kolsch yeast strain.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Elusive online. Pours clear yellow with a modest, frothy white head. Lightly sweet with pleasant biscuity malts, dirty hay, oddly strong grassy bitterness. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Bitter finish, borderline astringent. So so overall.

Can bought at Elusive. Aroma is grassy, earthy. Clear light gold. Thin creamy white head. Light-medium bitter. Grass. Quinine. Slice. A touch of malt. Tart sour streak develops into the finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. It's fine but just doesn't do much for me.
