Bottle from Inn At Home, Newbury. Aroma is earthy and malty. Even a touch vinous. Cloudy dark brown. The poor excuse for a head consists of a few scattered microbubbled. Medium bitter. Sour edge. Earthy, as per the aroma, with tart berries. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Long astringent finish. Far more interesting than I was expecting.

Bottle from Inn at Home, Newbury. Absolute gusher, beer all over the kitchen. What remained was a murky amber with an off-white head. There's a little sour citrus in what is otherwise a predominantly malty beer with a mild but lasting bitterness. It's a bit dull and average, but it's rather nice to have a traditional bitter after all these weeks in coronavirus lockdown with no access to pubs. However, it has to be said that drinking in pubs has the benefit that you don't have to clean beer from your kitchen worktops afterwards.

50cl bottle from Cold Ash Post Office, Newbury. A slightly hazy amber pour with a rapidly fading white head; light malty aroma; malty taste; and a lightly bitter finish. A perfectly okay bitter, but not very exciting.
