Jack D'Or, our favourite grain of barley, has returned to us. A homage to the saison beer style, but not a reproduction. A peasant, not a precious exhibit.
This reincarnation has Jack peacefully sleeping in his favourite woodland. It was a gentle beer to ferment, and we used a mix of Saccaromyces and Brettanomyces for gentle layered flavours and aromas. Plus we layered hops, Halletauer-region, Tettnang-region, plus some newer world varieties. Expect hazy, fruity beer with some bitterness to finish things off.
Cheers everyone, and soak up the peaceful good wishes from Attercliffe's smallest spirit.

Can ordered from Hop, Burns & Black. Spicy and earthy, citrus edged aroma. Hazy pale orange-gold. Thin translucent white head. Medium bitter. Juicy orange citrus then appears and with it sour-sweetness. Some resin. Spicy throughout. A touch tart into the finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick if thin feeling. Average carbonation. Dry astringent finish. Enjoyable. Interesting. One sip will be juicy. Another dry and spiced.

Can, picked up at the brewery. This is so easy drinking I think I’ve poffed a dozen or so in a week. Bright, yellow gold. Light haze. Fine white head is lasting and semi lacing. A little leggy, too. Nose has clean, lemony, bready grain. Lots of herbal, spicy hop leaf. Touch of leathery brett. Some fruited tea loaf. Taste has a soft, fruity, floral sweetness, balanced out with that bretty, lemon thing. Medium body. Stays clean and bright. Fine carbonation. Light hop bitterness to finish. Great now, and if I have the willpower to hang on to a few, I reckon there’s plenty to see here.
