Being Belgian style, with T58 you get high fruity esters mingled with bold, cracked pepper. A final dose of US05 crispens that fruitiness so it drinks like an American IPA but cloaks you in a warmth reminiscent of Trappist tripels. We've matched bolder Belgian yeast character with DIPA-doses of choice Slovenian hops. Cardinal gives mushed banana and pineapple aromas. Wolf gives a spicier, vibrant nose of anise and lemongrass. Combined, this beer drinks with candied fruit flavours: dried payaya over commonplace currants, and comforting hot-cross bun spice.

Bottle from Drunk Dry, Kidlington, Oxon, consumed at home Friday 7th July 2017. Hazy warm burnished gold, can you get such a thing as burnished gold, you can get other metals burnished so I am going to use it. Soft in the mouth, juicy with a wonderful warming boozy, yeasty kick. This is a lovely beer, nice sweetness, a little furry edge, really good. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov16 3.8

330 ml. bottle @ home. Hazy orange, small white head. Nose is banana upfront first but then very lovely big cheesy hops, almost blue cheese, label says Slovenian hops, some Sorachi Ace quality here actually,... Taste is banana upfront, sugar, leading into interesting cheese hops, dirty cheese hops, grain, banana, finish is too harsh, bitter cardboard & weeds,... Body is banana, harsh cardboard & weeds,... Actually some alcohol in the finish. Cool name but I feared the worst seeing Belgian DIPA on the label, finish is quite hard but Weird Beard delivers here & actually makes it work.

Styrian Cardinal and Styrian Wolf hops! Hazy gold beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is comparatively light and smooth, decent fine carbonation. Light malts, with a pleasing light creamy sweetness. Very mild hop spice. An unusual candy - orchard fruits vibe with light pine. Mild spicy bitterness. Smooth finish. Another off the beaten track DIPA from Weird Beard. It’s not quite a Gumball but I thoroughly enjoyed the different hop character in this one.
