Draft at the Crafty Taproom, Marlow. Poured a crystal clear medium brown colour with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is maple syrup and spicy cinnamon. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a moderately light, slightly watery, smooth, coffee, maple syrup, light chocolate palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

18/5/2022. Can from Beer Central, Sheffield. Opened with a gunshot bang! Pours hazy bronze brown with a large foamy off-white head. Aroma of bread, malt, toffee, toast, maple, cinnamon, light spice, hints of honeycomb. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, slightly creamy, soft carbonation. Very nice.

Cask at the maltings. Pours hazy brown, nose is cinnamon, caramel, chocolate, roasted, taste is sweet, creamy, caramel, burnt toffee, roasted

Dark reddish/brown beer. Smells of caramel and cinnamon. Tastes of a bit of custard, malt, cinnamon, a bit bready. Nice mix of malt and sweetness in the finish, just a dash of lingering spice too. Nicely balanced and very tasty, especially for the strength.

440ml can as part of a delivery from the Blue Boar and drunk at home. Light to mid-brown, translucent, with spotting of beige/khaki head. Cinnamon and ma0le in the aroma with bready malts. It's sweet, but not impossibly so, and there's some light hop bitterness toward the finish. Okay flavours and sweet spice in the aftertaste. It isn't all that exciting, but it's solid enough.

Keg at Flint Gate, Weybridge. I'll be very specific - if you go to the old town in Tallinn there are stalls which sell nuts which have been coated in spices, sugar and, perhaps, cocoa. You get nuts like this in a lot of places but this aroma is particularly Estonian. Dark brown to the extent that it appears opaque until you hold it up to the light. Initial light sourness with a sweet edge. The latter gains some strength. Malts and Christmas spices come through into the finish. I was going to state that at no point does this remind me of French toast but only as I got to the aftertaste did I pick up some syrupy burnt butter (or caramel) and the vanilla pods mentioned in the description. Light-medium bodied. Slick but edging towards thin. Flat carbonation. Long finish. This one over-egged itself. Certainly more interesting than some old school browns but a damp squib in terms of what was advertised. Make me think of one of those UK Christmas specials which has had season spices added to it.

On tap at Made Inn Ashford. Dark brown beer lasting dark beige head. Sweetness syrup some spice some brown malts. Bit sweet good maple syrup. Entertaining enough. Decent malts come through. Milk chocolate.

Cask at Small Bar, Bristol, 02/02/19. Mid brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is fruit cake, syrup, melted brown sugars, light cinammon. Taste comprises caramel, dried fruits, brown sugars, toffee, sweet malts,maple syrup on pancakes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Fun flavoursome brown if a touch on the sweet side.
