Old rating - West Country IPA on cask at the Albert Inn, pours a light chestnut colour with a small white head. Aromas & tastes of citrus, grapefruit & flora. Medium body. Malty citrus bitter finish. Enjoyable

On cask at the Albert Inn. It's actually called 'West Country IPA' but is the same strength so assume it's the same beer. Appearance - golden amber with decent lacing. Nose - grapefruit and almost into pink grapefruit. Taste - pith but still some citrus pith. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - good.

Cask at the brewpub. Low key floral aroma. Golden-amber. Patchy thin translucent white head. Light-medium bitter. Some citrus. A touch of spice into the finish. Underlying malts and boiled veg. Light bodied. Thin but still slick. Flat carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Basic. Goes down easily enough before an unpleasant aftertaste spoils things.
