Our medium-bodied Brown Ale is brewed in the English tradition, with an infusion of American creativity. The rich, malty backbone balances an assertive hop character, and ends with a smooth, dry finish. Our Brown Ale boasts a dark brown body that supports a creamy tan head. *2012 GABF Silver Medal Winner – American-Style Brown Ale*

Well designed artwork. First taste out of the can is malty dark beer with an almost astringent aftertaste. In the glass its dark brown with a tan head. It has a malted nose about it. Decent co2, its just that blasted odd astringent bite I get at the end of every slug, quite unexpected. Well they wanted it to be more bitter and it is, too fricken bitter but not in a hop way. Perhaps the bitterness comes from being overcooked when the it, what?, was roasted? Yes, that's what I'm getting, burnt toast. Even so, it hides the alky well and I'm grateful. In the end, I thing\k the Amercanizing of this style made it less attractive.

12 ounce can. Translucent reddish brown pour. Large foamy tan head. Sweet toasted malt nose hints at toffee and roasted nuts. Flavor follows nose with added notes of bakers chocolate and dried dark fruits. Spicy hops are subdued but offer nice balance. Rich and flavorful. An excellent American Brown Ale.
