A deep dark imperial stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with light caramel and butterscotch notes, light vinous character, pleasant. In mouth, sweet chocolate with loads dark fruits, molasses, alcohol warmth, light fusel notes, OK. On tap at brewery.

Bomber from one of the Whole Foods stores in Santa Rosa, CA. Pours very dark brown with a slight dark tan head. For me the aroma is smooth chocolate, mild treacle, and something like sea buckthorn. That’s a blast from the past. Med body. Flavor is chocolate, medium treacle, and something like "sea" berries. Those things the Danes keep putting into ales. Alternatively it comes across like fresh fruits of the berry sort. This is indeed "unique" IMHO. And I’m not feeling the heat very much. Hardly at all. Damn pleasant ale.

On tap at The Cooler. It pours a dark brown color with a large light brown head. The aroma has big notes of chocolate, fudge and coffee. Super chocolaty and rich smelling. The flavor has some dark fruity fig notes, lots of tobacco and chocolate. The alcohol is a little strong in the finish, but not what I would call hot. A little ashy. Full bodied. Good.

Bottle thanks to the brewer. Pours opaque black, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is licorice, cocoa, roasted malts, ashtray. Flavor is light sweet,, fully bitter, heavy roast, burned malt, anise, cocoa. Medium body

Bottle. Black beer with a brown head. Toffee and caramel aroma with light vanilla. Caramel and toffee flavor with light marshmallow. Medium bodied. Caramel and vanilla linger with toffee.
