New Dark Ages is a sessionable Black IPA collaboration with Beyond Grace a local Death Metal band with proggy twist. Together we decided on a 4.4% New Zealand hopped BIPA with hops from our favourite new supplier Eggers Hops (Bloody amazing since always) we've used southern cross and motueka at different stages of the boil and dry hopped with a load of lovely Riwaka.

Can from Prost, Bebington. Dark and glossy. Thick foamy beige head. Aroma os promising. Charcoal and coffee bitterness intertwined with a fruity streak.and a herbal edge. My initial reaction to the flavour was that it was tangy. Fruity with a sour edge. But it's muted and there's a almost gravy streak. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Like a standard Session IPa, I found this underpowered. But also just odd tasting.

Can from Lupe Pintos. Black body with a beige head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of minerals and blueberries. Flavour of lemon and dark chocolate. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Well balanced and tasty. I’d like to try a higher ABV version of this.
