Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol October 2024. Deep copper in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Yeasty grains, some caramel sweetness, red berries a touch of leafy hop and moderately bitter finish. This beer had not travelled well and I am not surprised others' ratings are higher.

On cask at the SO. Appearance - autumnal red, thin creamy white head. Nose - caramel, toffee and a hint of red fruits. Taste - burnt toffee, edge of almost liquorice but definitely some blackberry jam. Palate - medium bodied, sweet and then tangy dry. Overall - this grew on me.

[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] A golden amber pour with a tight cream head; malty aroma; rich caramel malt taste; with a spicy bitterness to finish. Smooth and satisfying.
