Although Stanza sings from the same hymn sheet, with an assertive hop bitterness, it’s even paler and hoppier than our flagship Pilcrow Pale. Nelson Sauvin, Cascade, and a touch of Mosaic combine to evoke aromas of lychee, tropical fruit and white wine. This Extra Pale Ale is the next verse in DB’s line up.

Cask at The Catford Beer Festival 2026, Catford Bridge Tavern. Nose is tropical fruit, grapefruit, lychee, white grape, spot of lime. Taste is a fair mix of the above. Sweet fruits with a subtle bitter aftertaste.

Cask gravity at the Watford beer festival 2025. A clear pale straw coloured pour with a loose off white head. Aroma is nice fresh citrus hops, lemongrass, jammy citrus, straw, grass. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, Base malts, lemon rind, some floral notes hedgerow pollen, leafy summer day. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, good cask condition.. Could crush some pints of this.

Draft at the Spoons on Gracechurch Street alongside a burger lunch. A typical APA with the zing you would expect alongside a certain offness. Whether thisnwas accident or design I don't know, but it wasn't great.

Cask at CPK, Pimlico on 19th April 2025. Clear pale gold with shallow white foam and full lacing. Mildly fruity aroma. Citrus liquid pass lacking complexity. Tangy finish. Light bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. By no means unpleasant, but one half was enough.
