A classic British Mild, Grandpa Louis has low-to-no bitterness and notes of caramel. Named for the city of St Louis, the hometown of 2nd Shift and Mondo founder Tom, the artwork is inspired by Autumn/Fall in St Louis and the iconic Gateway Arch which Tom’s Grandpa actually worked on! Cosy season is finally upon us and Grandpa Louis is the perfect beer to drink while you watch the leaves fall.

Keg draught at the White Horse, Pasons Green. Mahogany and translucent with a small uneven beige head. Spicy aroma, some chocolate malts. Sweet taste with a residual black cherry sourness. More sweet spice and chocolate malts in the finish. Light body, medium to heavy carbonation. Do milds work on keg?

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Clapton Craft. Pours clear copper with a small, creamy khaki head. Light sweet flavour with notes of toasted malts, some grain, grape, golden raisin, a few leaves. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with more toasted grains, bread crust, earthy bitterness. So so.

As milds go, pretty decent. Pours brown with a bubbly off-white head and hints of brown sugar in the nose. Light bodied and smooth, some subtle chocolate malt and hints of dark fruit
