Eight different malts set the foundations to this award-winning porter. Roasted malts combine with oats to create a smooth toasty beer with subtle chocolate notes to finish. We use only British hops and yeast to finish off this moreish mouthfeel.

Cask at Swan, Farnborough. Malty aroma - chcolate and berries. Very dsrk brown. Blocthy light beige head. Medium bitter before getting progressively more tart. Underlying sweetness. Very berry. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Long very astringent finish. Decent enough. Surprisingly tart for a brewry that I have down as producing bland brews on the whole.

Handpull cask at the Black Horse, Aylestone. Dark brown, almost black. Opaque with a creamy tan head. There are notes of aggressively roast coffee and liquorice in the aroma, but there's also a dulce de leche sweetness which tickles the nose. Mild taste which harbours a tangy bitterness at the finish. More liquorice, some charcoal in the aftertaste. Creamy palate. Nice.
